Most stains that are allowed to penetrate the fabric and dry become more difficult to remove so always try to deal with the stain as soon as possible.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

  • Act immediately before the spill or stain spreads too far and penetrates the fabric
  • Scrape up as much as possible with a spoon or scraper
  • Always work from the edges in to the centre to avoid spreading
  • Blot up liquids with an absorbent clean cloth, towel or paper
  • Try and keep the stain moist with a damp cloth over the top until help arrives
